Imgflip (pronounced "Image flip") is a meme creator and a social media platform dedicated to creating and sharing internet memes in the form of images, animated GIFs, demotivationals, pie charts, or artificial intelligence made images.[1]

History

Imgflip was created by Dylan Wenzlau, with the domain being registered on June 29, 2011.[2] The first post was a meme featuring the "Insanity Wolf" template.[3]

Meme generator

The meme generator allows users to choose from over a million user-generated templates. It provides tools for users to add stickers and draw on their images, it also includes a text tool to modify fonts, colors, sizes and other settings in the text boxes, which can be changed in size and be rotated.[4]

AI models

Imgflip includes a Classic Model that is trained with public images on the website, being limited to a handful of meme templates.[5][6][7] There is also a more advanced ChatGPT model, which can be used in any template, the model can also create its own image templates prompted by the user.[8]
