I’m sorry I messed up my contribution and caused the error!

Having trouble citing articles and don’t know where to put the citations, my apologies! Kalrynne (talk) 06:11, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

What part of "anonymous" Don't you understand?

Do not post the real names of members of Sleep Token unless they actually officially publish them. Respect the bands' wishes. Chromesthesia304 (talk) 06:03, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

Respecting their wishes isn't a reason not to post their names if we know them. I agree with not posting the names based on some music blogs detective work without any actual verifiable proof. --Onorem (talk) 22:25, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
Well, the guy’s real name can be found by looking on the ASCAP/BMI database. That seems pretty official and published. 2601:41:4300:BBF:7421:1F1D:B4CC:7977 (talk) 19:26, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
That's a database of songwriters, not performers. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:17, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
Sleep Token published their names in Apple Music. Music written by Adam Pedder, Leo Faulkner GoBaseball44 (talk) 03:06, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
As I said above, that's the names of two music writers. It is not listing the members of the band. Yes, they probably are these people, but Wikipedia should not be jumping to that conclusion. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:23, 1 September 2023 (UTC)

Wow, my edit wasn't saved. Fuck Wikipedia. Anyway. Abbreviated,

I do not respect artists wanting to remain anonymous. If you release music for the public, then you surrender your right to anonymity. If you don't want attention, leave the recording on your hard drive. Otherwise it feels like you're begging for even more attention, trying to make your audience engage in some ARG. 172.59.197.86 (talk) 21:36, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

Your thoughts on how a band might publicise themselves are not relevant. If there are no reliable sources that identify the band members then Wikipedia doesn't list them.--Escape Orbit (Talk) 07:55, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

This part should probably be removed

The "In January 2024, the identities and addresses of the band members were reportedly leaked. In response, the band deleted all posts from all social media accounts and since has gone silent" is not completely true. Their identities have been known for a long time, as well as the fact there is no proof of the band's social media going silent for that purpose as they have since been posting again in preparation of their upcoming tour. I think this bit of information should be removed, especially since the source article is essentially a gossip and speculation piece. HunterGatherer97 (talk) 23:30, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Done I've removed the sentence for failing verification and for synthesizing information in the source to reach a conclusion rather than reporting on what the source actually says. —Sirdog (talk) 00:12, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

Correction on members names

Each member is a different vessel so by saying that vessel is the vocalist is incorrect. The members should be vessel I, vessel II, vessel III, and vessel IV MrBandanathc (talk) 03:03, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

Exactly. It's a common misconception only Vessel 1 is called "Vessel". 95.33.204.21 (talk) 11:47, 9 March 2024 (UTC)

Semi-protected edit request on 29 February 2024

The dates provided for the release of their cover of "Hey Ya!" are misleading. The release date referenced on the Prelude Press article is also referencing the date which Hey Ya! was added back to Spotify, not the original publishing date. Looking at the youtube release for the cover, you can see that it was initially released ahead of Jaws on February 28th, 2017 Hey Ya! Youtube

Based on the bandcamp release dates for Two , Hey Ya was released 5 months before the second EP as well. https://sleeptoken.bandcamp.com/community Date and source the release properly and remove citation of the Prelude Press article for clarity Nyxy.bot (talk) 15:42, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Geardona (talk to me?) 21:53, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

More than 1 interview has been given by the band

Under artistry, identity and musical style it states that the band's only interview has been with a metal publication. This is false as 2 has given an interview with a Youtube channel called Drumeo. I wanted to provide a link but youtube seems to be blacklisted on wikipedia. Danielkaisi (talk) 15:09, 16 April 2024 (UTC)

Genre

Can we get agreement of a suitable summary of the band's genres? Listing every possible genre in the lead sentence is not the purpose of the lead, and certainly doesn't help the reader get an immediate idea of what kind of music they generally play. Same goes for the infobox. There is plenty of opportunity for the rest of the article to expand the breadth of what they play, with sources of course.

Unless there is a clear preference in the sources for a particular sub-genre, I'd suggest that the generic "metal" is the best summary. But happy to hear other suggestions. Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:55, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Agreed TheWarOfArt (talk) 14:57, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Espera

If we're going to list Espera in the members section, should we publicize their names? Espera have chosen to make their identities public via their social media, and have for a while, so it's something to consider on whether or not we should handle them like the rest of the band or not. 2600:100E:B033:E325:BD5B:3FEB:FE1E:7779 (talk) 10:49, 18 February 2025 (UTC)

Vessel's identity

I'm drafting an article for Vessel himself and would like to know whether I should use his real identity, please get back to me ASAP :) AlexEditsStuff (talk) 04:07, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

You say what reliable sources say. If they use his real name, in reference to "Vessel" then you may too. What you cannot do is combine sources in order to cite them to demonstrate that his name can be worked out from them. (As some earlier attempted to do on this article.)
You should also consider what he is most commonly called. Is he most notable as "Vessel", who has a real name? Or is he most notable under his real name, who sometimes performs as "Vessel"? This would determine what you name the article. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 12:43, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
Just to jump in here, it's extremely unlikely that an article about Vessel will meet WP:N guidelines. He's not notable outside of Sleep Token and there's no real information out there about him that's reliable. I'd recommend not wasting your time on it. If there's real info available, it can be included in the Sleep Token article itself. Andre666 (talk) 14:34, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
