Template

If you're going to make a template for this, there are really too many instruments. I would leave out the less common ones. And one could also reduce the size of the text, as in the "Wines" template ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Wines ). Badagnani 20:21, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Further, the original design of the template was more elegant and visually appealing than the current version. Badagnani 20:25, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

I'll reiterate that some of the instruments are extremely rare regional instruments used only by non-Han ethnic minorities. If all such instruments were to be added, the template would be about 50 times longer. Also, some of the instruments in the article are possibly nonexistent and need to be checked before being added to a template. Badagnani 02:25, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

It is possible to also include, in the huqin articles, a separate template just for huqin instruments. The same could go for Chinese lutes and Chinese zithers, perhaps. Badagnani 03:43, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

I've removed the following since they were all ancient, esoteric within their groups, variant names, or used by only one group of people. I have also changed the font size of the template and widened it which makes it look more concise. I like the idea of having separate templates for some of the groups. Tim Q. New color

I think the new (bright crimson) color is a bit harsh. Badagnani 21:59, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I've changed it to a darker one. It was too bright. Tim Q. Wells 23:36, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

The problem is the blue text. Even with a moderately red color like this (I know, it's symbolic for Chinese culture) the blue is quite hard to read. Lighter colors, thus, always work best for these kinds of template bars. Badagnani 00:48, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
